In her role, she will lead legal affairs for Nemours, which owns and operates the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del., and the Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Fla., along with major pediatric specialty clinics in Delaware, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Ms. Platz most recently was Nemours’ first operational vice president and chief of legal operations. During her tenure at Nemours, she led legal operations for Nemours in Florida and Delaware, and played an integral role in the opening of NCH. She also provided governance advice and legal counsel to Nemours Florida Board of Managers and to the Nemours Board of Directors with regard to Nemours operations.

She replaces Nemours’ previous general counsel, Steve Sparks, who recently joined the Hershey Trust Co. in Hershey, Pa., as senior vice president and general counsel.
