Erin Smith, RN, has been named COO of Jefferson Community Health & Life in Fairbury, Neb.
Ms. Smith has been with the organization since 2003, according to a Nov. 10 hospital news release. She began as a registered nurse in acute care and took on patient safety and risk management duties starting in 2007. She was promoted to chief quality officer in 2010 and named chief nursing officer in 2019.
As COO, she will continue to oversee inpatient, surgical and acute nursing departments, along with ancillary services, home health, risk management, and the quality program.
Jefferson Community Health & Life operates a 17-bed critical access hospital, family medicine clinic, long-term care facility and home health services.
