Methodist Healthcare System names Allen Harrison president

San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare System tapped Allen Harrison to serve as president. He will transition into the role over the next two months.

San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas and Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare co-own Methodist Healthcare System in a 50-50 partnership. Mr. Harrison succeeds Jaime Wesolowski, who is taking on the top post at Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas after putting off his previously announced retirement.

Mr. Harrison currently serves as CEO of Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio. He has prior experience at HCA, serving as COO of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver and CEO of St. David’s North Austin (Texas) Medical Center, among other leadership roles.

Mr. Harrison earned his MBA at the University of Colorado at Denver.
