Mr. Korth, 41, has been serving as CEO of Tenet’s Lakewood (Calif.) Regional Medical Center. Before that, he was COO of Los Alamitos (Calif.) Medical Center.
He replaces former CEO Rick Barnett, who has become senior vice president and executive officer of VHA.
Jon Halfhide, the president and CEO of Catholic Healthcare West North State, served as interim president at Mercy.
