Mercy Hospital South appoints Dr. Aamina Akhtar CMO

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis has tapped Aamina B. Akhtar, MD, to serve as CMO, effective Sept. 16.

Dr. Akhtar, an infectious disease specialist, joined Mercy Hospital South in 2005, when it was called St. Anthony’s Medical Center. During her time at the hospital, she served on the medical executive committee and quality and safety committee.

She succeeds Charles Rehm Jr., MD, who is retiring.
