Mercy Health – Cincinnati picks new west market CEO: 5 things to know

Mercy Health – Cincinnati has named Michael Kramer, BSN, west market president and CEO.

Here are five things to know about Mr. Kramer.

1. He takes on his new role after serving as interim west market president and CEO for nearly two months following the departure of Michael Stephens for a new position with Lewisville, Texas-based Adeptus Health.

2. Most recently, Mr. Kramer was the Cincinnati region's vice president of business development and chief network integration officer. Before that, he was COO of West Hospital in Cincinnati.

3. He also previously served in various other roles with Mercy Health, including director of finance for The Heart Institute at Mercy Health – Fairfield (Ohio) Hospital and director of finance for Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati, Clermont Hospital in Batavia, Ohio, and Mt. Airy [AC2]and Western Hills hospitals in Cincinnati.

4. During his time with Mercy Health, he has served on or led teams focused on acquisitions and development and implementation of new service lines, as well as campus expansions, including those at Anderson Hospital and The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. 

5. Mr. Kramer earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Business Administration and Master of Hospital and Health Administration from Cincinnati-based Xavier University.
