Medical City Arlington announces CEO Winston Borland’s retirement; names new CMO

Medical City Arlington (Texas) announced CEO Winston Borland will retire, effective March 31, 2017. He has been with Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America since 1983 and CEO of Medical City Arlington since 2010.

Mr. Borland’s previous roles include serving as COO of Medical Center of Plano (Texas) and CEO at HCA Northwest Regional Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. During his tenure, Medical City Arlington has grown significantly, adding 24 ICU beds, a 16-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit as well as developing Medical City ER Grand Prairie (Texas).

Medical City Arlington also named Eric Benink, MD, MBA, CMO. Dr. Benink most recently served as CMO at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tenn. An emergency medicine physician by training, he has also served in the United States Air Force. He was previously a clinical instructor and assistant professor for the emergency medicine residency program at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
