Massachusetts health system names CMO/Chief quality officer

Pittsfield, Mass.-based Berkshire Health Systems has selected James Lederer Jr., MD, to serve as CMO and chief quality officer, the health system announced.

Dr. Lederer brings a wealth of healthcare leadership experience to the role, most recently as vice president for clinical excellence at Allspire Health Partners in Conshohocken, Pa.

He also served as the CMO/chief quality officer and vice president for quality and safety at Boise, Idaho-based Saint Alphonsus Health System.

Dr. Lederer also held leadership roles at Novant Health in Winston-Salem, N.C., including vice president of clinical improvement.

A board-certified internal medicine physician, he received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.
