The board unanimously selected Ms. Schepici to lead the hospital during a Dec. 28 meeting. Officials noted Ms. Schepici has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership and management. Prior to joining Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, she served as chief administrative officer at Framingham, Mass.-based MetroWest Medical Center.
The hospital board of trustees said last June it made the formal decision to fire Mr. Woodin June 7. However, Mr. Woodin told the Vineyard Gazette he was “summarily fired” June 5 with “no notice.”
At the time of his dismissal, Mr. Woodin had served as president and CEO of the hospital for just over one year.
