LSU Health Shreveport selects new surgery department chairman: 3 points

LSU Health Shreveport (La.) appointed Keith White, MD, chairman of the department of surgery, effective immediately.

Three points:

1. Dr. White was previously vice chairman of surgery. He is also a professor of clinical surgery and director of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery.

2. He has prior experience as chief medical director for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at St. Frances Medical Center in Monroe, La.

3. Dr. White is chairman of the Physician Compensation Committee and a member of the Promotion and Tenure Committee at LSU Health Shreveport.
