Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Lutheran Health Network announced this month that Ms. Autry would transition from leading Lutheran Hospital to serving as CEO of St. Joseph Hospital on April 1. Ms. Autry decided not to transfer “after further consideration about her future goals,” according to an email a Lutheran spokesperson sent to The Journal Gazette.
Instead, Ms. Autry will be taking on a project CEO role with Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, Lutheran Health Network’s parent.
“We appreciate the many contributions Paula has made at Lutheran and wish her well in her future endeavors,” the email stated.
Ms. Autry became Lutheran Hospital CEO in 2017. Before then, she worked at Detroit Medical Center’s Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit.
Tony Degina will serve as interim CEO of Lutheran Hospital. Most recently, he served as CEO of Largo (Fla.) Medical Center.
