Loretto Hospital CEO replaced with George Miller: 5 notes

Chicago-based Loretto Hospital selected George Miller Jr., to serve as its new president and CEO, according to a Crain’s Chicago Business report.

Here are five notes:

1. Mr. Miller served on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission under former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

2. He previously led a network of clinics in Texas.

3. He replaces Sonia Mehta, MD, who also serves as CMO of the hospital. She led the hospital since 2012.

4. Dr. Mehta has not yet commented on the leadership change, according to Crain’s.

5. The community hospital, a nonprofit, safety net facility, has remained independent in a hospital market that is rapidly consolidating, the report says.
