Vishal Agrawal, MD, has been named CEO of Longitude Health, an innovation consortium formed by some of the largest nonprofit health systems in the U.S.

Dr. Agrawal is a physician, scientist, strategist and operator with more than 25 years of leadership experience across payer, provider, technology and financial sectors, according to an Oct. 15 news release. He joins Longitude from Humana, where he served as chief strategy and development officer.

Longitude Health launched in October 2024 with the aim to “tackle head-on the most impactful challenges and opportunities in the healthcare industry.” Renton, Wash.-based Providence, Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health, Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health and Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System are the consortium’s founding members. Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine joined the collaborative in May.

“Longitude Health represents the opportunity to connect the silos in U.S. health care,” Dr. Agrawal said in the release.  “By bringing together health systems, payers, providers and technology, we can create scalable solutions that reduce fragmentation, accelerate innovation and deliver measurable impact.”

Under Dr. Agrawal’s leadership, Longitude will:

  • Launch and expand a pipeline of new solutions
  • Apply agentic AI and predictive tools to support clinicians, streamline operations and make care more efficient
  • Strengthen the infrastructure that enables innovation to spread seamlessly across systems

Dr. Agrawal takes over the role from interim CEO Brett Moraski, Longitude’s CFO who stepped into the role following the death of founding chief executive Paul Mango.
