In this role, Mr. Leckelt will be responsible for overall operations and for the hospital’s 300 employees.
Before joining Bell Hospital, part of the Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals system, Mr. Leckelt was assistant administrator at Marquette (Mich.) General Hospital. He previously served as director of emergency medical services at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, La., from 1991 to 1999 and senior director of operations at West Jefferson from 1999 until joining Marquette General Hospital as vice president of operations in 2010.
“Mitch is a great fit for Bell Hospital and the western Marquette County community,” said LifePoint Hospitals Upper Peninsula Market President James Bogan. “We reviewed several candidates, and it quickly became apparent that Mitch’s management expertise and knowledge of healthcare dynamics in the Upper Peninsula is what is needed to propel Bell forward at the local level, while helping achieve our regional goals and priorities.”
