The board voted 9-1 to grant a special waiver that will let outgoing Legislator Bill Ryan (D-White Plains) become the director of intergovernmental relations with Westchester County Health Care.
The waiver was necessary, as the county has an ethics code that bars lawmakers from taking jobs with companies that have done business with the county until the lawmaker has been out of office for at least one year.
Mr. Ryan, whose term ends this year, will have an annual salary of $190,000 in his new position. Mr. Ryan said he expects to begin work in his new position Jan. 6, according to the report.
