Kennedy Krieger Institute selects Dr. Bradley Schlaggar as CEO: 5 points

Baltimore-based Kennedy Krieger Institute appointed Bradley L. Schlaggar, MD, PhD, president and CEO, effective in the summer.

The institute includes inpatient and outpatient clinics, home and community services as well as school-based programs serving children with developmental disabilities.

Here are five points:

1. Dr. Schlaggar most recently served as division head of pediatric and developmental neurology and co-director of the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

2. He also served as neurologist-in-chief at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

3. He is a co-founder and vice president of the Flux Society for Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience.

4. He won the Society for Pediatric Research's 2013 E. Mead Johnson Award.

5. Dr. Schlaggar succeeds Gary W. Goldstein, MD, who is taking on a new role at the Kennedy Krieger Foundation.
