Janet Rathod was appointed vice president and chief information security officer starting Sept. 16. She reports to Johns Hopkins CIO Richard Mendola, PhD.

“I am so excited that Janet will be joining Johns Hopkins as our next CISO,” Dr. Mendola said in a Sept. 13 statement. “She brings experience and perspectives that are incredibly well-suited to the incessant cybersecurity threats that we must face in higher education and healthcare.”

Ms. Rathod previously spent 16 years at the FBI before serving in cybersecurity leadership at Capital One and Citi. She replaces Darren Lacey, who was named chief engineer for cybersecurity in the university’s Advanced Physics Laboratory.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
