Idaho hospital CEO steps down

Abner King is stepping down as CEO of Grangeville, Idaho-based Syringa Hospital and Clinics after serving in the role for seven years, according to a Sept. 30 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.

“This decision reflects a personal and professional step forward as I pursue new opportunities in healthcare leadership,” Mr. King said in the release. “It has been a privilege to serve this hospital and community, and I am deeply grateful for the collaboration, support and shared commitment to advancing health and wellness in our region.”

Syringa also said that CFO David Applewood was appointed interim CEO. 

Mr. King joined Syringa in January 2018, after serving as COO of Steele Memorial Medical Center in Salmon, Idaho.
