Janie Thompson has stepped down from her role as COO of Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan. The hospital is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
“After more than seven years in hospital leadership with HCA, I’m putting healthcare leadership on pause to build some intention and purpose into how I plan the next seven (and beyond) years of my life,” she wrote in a May 12 LinkedIn post.
Ms. Thompson stepped into the role in August 2024 after serving as COO of St. David’s Georgetown (Texas) Hospital. She first joined Austin, Texas-based St. David’s HealthCare in 2019 as an administrative resident, later holding roles as assistant administrator and vice president of operations, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She is succeeded by Valerie Newman, who is stepping into the COO role after serving in the same position at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital.
