HCA Florida hospital names new CEO

David Was has been named CEO of HCA Florida Highlands Hospital in Sebring. 

He stepped into the role July 28 and brings nearly 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, according to a July 28 Facebook post from the hospital.

Mr. Was most recently served as COO of HCA Healthcare’s Live Oak Mental Health & Wellness in Ladson, S.C., according to the hospital’s news release. In that role, he oversaw the opening of a $48 million freestanding behavioral health facility in Charleston, S.C.

He also previously served as COO of HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford.

The 126-bed HCA Florida HIghlands Hospital is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
