Brad Futrell, the hospital’s COO, has stepped in as interim CEO. However, Mr. Futrell has already announced his own resignation effective, Nov. 19.

“I felt it was in everyone’s best interest for me to resign at this point,” Mr. Futrell told McLeansboro Times-Leader.

Mr. Dauby’s termination was approved in a seven-to-one vote following a 45-minute long executive session among the Hamilton Memorial Hospital District Board of Directors on Oct. 28. The board is scheduled to meet Nov. 6 to discuss the search for a new CEO.

Mr. Dauby spent 28 years at Hamilton Memorial Hospital, first as a financial officer and later an assistant administrator before becoming CEO.
