Four notes:
1. Dr. Bland was most recently medical director for the division of healthcare quality evaluation at the Joint Commission.
2. He previously worked at Hospital Sisters Health System in Springfield, Ill., where he served in several roles, including chief quality officer and CMO.
3. He was also the assistant dean for faculty development and associate professor of medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.
4. Dr. Bland is a nephrologist with an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst as well as a master’s degree in predictive analytics from Northwestern University in Chicago.
