Gila Regional Medical Center selects permanent CFO: 4 things to know

Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M., appointed Richard Stokes its permanent CFO, according to a Silver City Daily Press report.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Stokes has previous experience leading financial operations for numerous hospitals, including rural and county-owned facilities.

2. Prior to entering the healthcare arena, he operated a public accounting firm for 10 years.

3. He succeeds interim CFO JoBeth Vance, who will stay on at the hospital for another two months to assist with the transition.

4. Ms. Vance, who joined Gila Regional in March 2017, helped the hospital turn a profit in December 2017 after a long period of negative revenues, according to the report.
