Here are five things to know about Mr. Tilton.
1. At Geisinger, Mr. Tilton will lead performance excellence efforts and develop and assist with key external relationships, according to the health system.
2. Mr. Tilton most recently was president and CEO of Atlantic City, N.J.-based AtlantiCare. He left AtlantiCare June 30 and began his new role at Geisinger this month.
3. During his tenure at AtlantiCare, the organization received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2009.
4. Currently, Mr. Tilton serves on the board of the Health Research & Educational Trust, an affiliate of the American Hospital Association.
5. Mr. Tilton earned a bachelor’s degree at Rider University in Lawrence Township, N.J., and a master’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University, based in New Brunswick, N.J.
