Mr. Summer began the role Jan. 1, after retiring as president and CEO of the Colorado Hospital Association that he helmed for more than 13 years. He also has held executive healthcare leadership positions in West Virginia and Maryland.
Marna P. Borgstrom, Healthcare Institute board chair and CEO of Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health System, said in a news release that Mr. Summer “brings a strong passion and enthusiasm that will help to move the institute forward.”
Mr. Summer has an MBA in healthcare administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
