Tallahassee-based Florida State University has appointed Jeremy Slaga as inaugural vice president of the university and chief clinical operations officer of FSU Health, effective Jan. 5.

Mr. Staga will join FSU from Temple Health in Philadelphia, where he is responsible for operations across six hospitals and 1,500 physicians and scientists as chief integration officer. He has spent 18 years in leadership roles at academic health systems, overseeing strategic planning, procurement, IT optimization and value-based care.

In his new role, Mr. Staga will report to FSU President Richard McCullough and lead development of FSU Health’s clinical operations and partnerships. In September, FSU and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare reached an agreement to transform the hospital into an academic medical center.

Under the plan, TMH will remain as the licensed operator of the facility and collaborate with FSU on research, branding, academic and clinical agreements.
