Emory University Hospital names Dr. Bryce Gartland CEO: 3 things to know

Atlanta-based Emory University Hospital has named Bryce Gartland, MD, CEO, according to an Atlanta Business Chronicle report.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Gartland.

1. Dr. Gartland is currently COO of Emory University Hospital. He will take the helm from Robert Bachman, who is taking on another role as executive director for the hospital’s expansions and renovations, including the new nine-story wing that will cost $400 million, according to the report.

2. In addition to his role as CEO of Emory University Hospital, Dr. Gartland will also serve as CEO of Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital in Tucker, Ga., and Emory Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital in Atlanta.

3. He joined Emory as a hospitalist and held several leadership roles before accepting the COO title in 2012.
