Emerus appoints Craig Goguen CEO: 5 things to know

The Woodlands, Texas-based Emerus Holdings, an operator of micro-hospitals, named Craig Goguen CEO.

Here are five things to know:

1. Most recently, Mr. Goguen served as president and CEO of DSI Renal, a dialysis services provider based in Nashville, Tenn.

2. Prior to that, he was the COO of Irving, Texas-based Odyssey HealthCare, a leading provider of hospice services.

3. He also spent more than 10 years at Denver-based DaVita.

4. He replaces founding CEO Toby Hamilton, MD, who will continue to serve on the Emerus board and manage innovation and charitable initiatives on behalf of the company.

5. Emerus partners with health systems to develop micro-hospitals. It currently includes more than 1,500 employees and 21 hospitals.
