The board of directors has voted to endorse Mr. Parton to the Jefferson Parish Council. The endorsement will go to the council for approval later this month.
Mr. Parton takes over from hospital CMO Raymond DeCorte, MD, who has been serving as interim president and CEO since the retirement of Mark Peters, MD. Most recently, Mr. Parton served as regional vice president for Nashville, Tenn.-based Quorum Health Resources. Prior to that, he worked with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, serving in executive roles in the New Orleans metropolitan region.
Mr. Parton is the hospital’s fourth CEO in its 46-year history. He holds an MBA degree from Knoxville-based University of Tennessee.
