Dr. Joanne Ritter-Teitel is University Hospital of Brooklyn’s new CNO: 4 points

SUNY Downstate Medical Center appointed Joanne Ritter-Teitel, PhD, RN, chief nursing officer of University Hospital of Brooklyn and associate dean of clinical practice in the College of Nursing. All facilities are based in New York City.

1. Dr. Ritter-Teitel most recently served as vice president and the first CNO at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, N.Y.

2. She has previously served as vice president of nursing and patient services at Princeton Healthcare System and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey.

3. Dr. Ritter-Teitel is president of the New York Organization for Nurse Executives and Leaders, an advocacy and educational organization.

4. She earned her PhD in nursing administration from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
