Cincinnati-based Mercy Health has selected Gilbert Palmer, MD, to serve as chief clinical officer for the Lorain (Ohio) market, according to The Morning Journal.
Dr. Palmer, who assumed his new role last month, previously served as CMO of the Lorain market for five years. He initiated a partnership with Cleveland-based MetroHealth to bring the first level 3 trauma program to Lorain County.
He previously was national director of hospitalist medicine at NES Health in Tiburon, Calif.
Dr. Palmer is a board-certified emergency room physician.
