Dr. Gary Little joins Carolinas Medical Center as CMO

Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare System has appointed Gary Little, MD, vice president and CMO of Carolinas Medical Center, also in Charlotte.

In his new role, Dr. Little will partner with Eugene Christian, MD, CMO of Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy, also in Charlotte. The two CMOs will be jointly responsible for medical staff interactions and initiatives, as well as oversight of all quality and patient safety work through the license of the Carolinas HealthCare System Central Division.

Previously, Dr. Little served since 2009 as medical director for GeorgeWashingtonUniversityHospital in Washington, D.C. Before that, he was chief of emergency medicine at Prince George’s HospitalCenter in Cheverly, Md.

Dr. Little earned a medical degree from HarvardMedicalSchool in Boston and a master of business administration from GeorgeWashingtonUniversity in Washington, D.C.
