Detroit Medical Center names Dr. Anthony Tedeschi CEO

Detroit Medical Center tapped Anthony J. Tedeschi, MD, to lead as CEO, effective immediately. Most recently, he served as CEO of Dallas-based Tenet’s four-hospital Chicago Market as well as CEO at Chicago-based Weiss Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Tedeschi has more than 20 years of operational and clinical leadership experience. Prior to joining Tenet, he was COO of Cook County Health & Hospitals System in Chicago. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, his MBA from Chicago-based Northwestern University as well as a master’s degree in public health from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Tedeschi succeeds Joe Mullany, who is leaving DMC to pursue other opportunities.
