Dana-Farber Cancer Institute names Lesley Solomon 1st ever chief innovation officer: 5 notes

Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute tapped Lesley Solomon to serve as senior vice president for innovation and chief innovation officer, a newly-created position.

1. Ms. Solomon previously served as executive director of the Brigham Innovation Hub at Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital as well as director of strategy and innovation in the Brigham Research Institute.

2. She led the Brigham task force that created the innovation hub and became its founding director in 2013.

3. She previously worked as director of e-philanthropy in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s development office.

4. She holds an MBA degree from Boston-based Harvard Business School.

5. In her new role, Ms. Solomon will foster health system partnerships, explore care collaboration opportunities and develop innovation strategies. She will work closely with the Belfer Office for Dana-Farber Innovations, which is working to launch partnerships with biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
