Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center drops ‘interim’ from CEO Naman Mahajan’s title

Houston-based Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center selected Naman Mahajan to lead as permanent CEO, effective immediately.

Mr. Mahajan took over as interim CEO following the departure of Terry Wheeler, who retired July 31. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare bought the hospital from Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, on Aug. 1.

Prior to serving as interim CEO, Mr. Mahajan was COO of the 181-bed hospital. He also previously served as CEO for Select Specialty Hospital-Houston Heights.

A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Mahajan earned an MBA with a healthcare specialization from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
