CQO of Intermountain resigns

Brent James, MD, will resign as chief quality officer of Salt Lake City, Utah-based Intermountain Healthcare effective August 26.

Dr. James joined Intermountain in 1986 as the director of medical research and continuing medical education. He has won the Deming Cup from the Columbia University School of Business in 2011 and the C. Jackson Grayson Medal, Distinguished Quality Pioneer from American Quality and Productivity Center in 2010

"Intermountain is now internationally known for medical informatics and for embedding a culture of quality across a healthcare system, and Brent has played a pivotal role in that recognition," said Marc Harrison, MD, Intermountain's president and CEO.
