CommonSpirit names regional president

Matt Brown was appointed president of CommonSpirit Health’s south region, according to an Aug. 15 news release shared with Becker’s.

Mr. Brown will lead an $8 billion healthcare market spanning Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas.

“[Mr.] Brown’s appointment follows a highly successful interim period and underscores his proven capabilities, previously demonstrated through a similar interim region president role in our mountain region,” Terika Richardson, CommonSpirit’s COO, said in the release. “Matt’s proven leadership and operational acumen are precisely what CommonSpirit Health needs to strategically strengthen our southern presence, ensuring exceptional, compassionate care and sustained growth across the region.”

Previously, Mr. Brown served as senior vice president of operations and chief transformation officer at CommonSpirit. 

CommonSpirit, based in Chicago, is a nonprofit, Catholic health system with 140 hospitals and more than 1,500 care sites across 21 states.
