Combined Greenville Health System, Palmetto Health company names 9 leaders

Columbia, S.C.-based Palmetto Health and Greenville (S.C.) Health System integrated last year to form the SC Health Company, and the new nonprofit company announced leadership appointments Jan. 24.

The leadership appointments include:

• CFO: Terri T. Newsom, most recently vice president of financial services and CFO at Greenville Health System.
• Chief administrative officer: Gregory J. Rusnak, former executive vice president and COO for Greenville Health System.
• Chief governance officer: Joseph J. Blake Jr., previous vice president and chief legal officer for Greenville Health System and its strategic coordinating organization.
• Chief strategy officer: Malcolm Isley, former vice president and chief strategy officer at Greenville Health System.
• Chief of staff: Michael Hildebrand, most recently chief of staff to the CEO of Greenville Health System.
• Chief clinical officer: Angelo Sinopoli, MD, previous executive vice president and chief clinical officer of Greenville Health System.
• General counsel: Howard West, former chief legal officer for Palmetto Health.

Additionally, under the new company, Palmetto Health and Greenville Health System will be referred to as Midlands Affiliate and Upstate Affiliate, respectively. John J. Singerling III, previous board of directors’ chair for the Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group, will serve as president of the Midlands Affiliate. Spence M. Taylor, MD, as 25-year employee of Greenville Health System, will assume the role of president of the Upstate Affiliate.

“This new leadership team will have enhanced opportunities to share best practices to improve patient outcomes, and the organization’s scale will help positively impact the ability to develop new clinical programs and reach more patients,” said Michael C. Riordan, co-CEO of SC Health Company, in a statement.
