The board voted against renewing the contract during a special meeting Oct. 25. The reason for the decision was not made clear. David Lane, board chairman, said it was a “long and considered decision.”

“We appreciate many years of service and acknowledge his many accomplishments while CEO here at Delta Hospital,” said Mr. Lane to the Press.

Mr. Cleckler took over as leader of the hospital 2012. He joined Delta County Memorial in 2008.
