Cleveland Clinic taps permanent chief strategy officer: 5 things to know

Cleveland Clinic selected Josette M. Beran to serve as its permanent chief strategy officer, effective immediately.

Here are five things to know:

1. Ms. Beran became interim chief strategy officer in January.

2. Prior to that, she was executive administrative officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

3. She has worked at Cleveland Clinic for 17 years and has served in several leadership roles, including as executive director of medical operations.

4. During her time as interim chief strategy officer, Ms. Beran oversaw the integration of Akron (Ohio) General into the Cleveland Clinic family, among other accomplishments.

5. She holds a master's degree in executive healthcare business administration from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.
