Cleveland Clinic names Dr. Gregory Rosencrance chairman of Medicine Institute

Cleveland Clinic’s Medicine Institute, which includes adult primary care, family medicine, pediatric and infectious disease practices, among others, appointed a new chairman Tuesday. J. Gregory Rosencrance, MD, will begin his new role Feb. 1, 2016. He is succeeding David Longworth, MD, who left Cleveland Clinic in May.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute as chairman to the progress the Medicine Institute has made in improving patient-centered care and population health, and reducing the cost of healthcare,” Dr. Rosencrance said in a statement. “I look forward to guiding and collaborating with the institute team to deliver outstanding care while simultaneously transforming our care delivery model.”

His prior appointments include the Ayash Distinguished Professor of Internal Medicine and chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at the West Virginia University Charleston Division School of Medicine, interim dean of West Virginia University School of Medicine and CEO of the West Virginia University Physicians of Charleston.
