Clarion Hospital CEO Byron Quinton to retire next month: 5 notes

Byron Quinton, president and CEO of Clarion (Pa.) Hospital, is retiring at the end of October.

1. Mr. Quinton led the hospital the hospital for a decade.

2. During his tenure, the hospital implemented its culture of safety program and used National Patient Safety Foundation practices for Safer Healthcare. He also helped inculcate a culture promoting staff and patient feedback.

3. His previous roles include CEO and administrator at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tenn., and Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca, Nev.

4. He is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators and a member of the Hospital Council of Western Pennsylvania.

5. He is a former chairman of the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania.
