The city council unanimously voted to have City Manager Tom Youatt draft a letter to each member of the hospital’s Board of Trustees asking to either have Mr. Napierala removed from the board or allow him to mutually step down, according to the report.
The request follows several weeks of concern after Mr. Napierala fired COO Jerry Worden just six months after Mr. Worden was hired. The city council’s request asks the hospital’s Board of Trustees to appoint Mr. Worden as CEO, according to the report.
Hospital employees have expressed concerns with the hospital’s financial stability, its future and its leadership, according to the report.
