Here are five things to know:
1. Mr. Haynes is leaving to take on the role of executive vice president and COO of Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare System.
2. Mr. Haynes was named president and CEO of the health system in 2015, prior to which he was COO.
3. During his time as leader, the health system opened San Antonio’s first freestanding, academic children’s hospital.
4. He will remain in his current role until Jan. 20, 2017.
5. Dominic Dominguez, Irving, Texas-based Christus Health’s senior vice president of operations for the Christus Santa Rosa and Corpus Christi, Texas-based Christus Spohn markets, will lead the Santa Rosa system until a permanent successor is named.
