Joe Hodges was promoted to chief operations executive of St. Louis-based SSM Health, according to a Sept. 2 news release shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Hodges most recently served as regional president for Oklahoma and Mid-Missouri, and the new role expands his responsibilities to include ensuring strategic alignment across the health system.
Tammy Powell was appointed regional president for Oklahoma and Mid-Missouri, and Stacy Coleman was named president of SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, the release said.
Mr. Hodges began at SSM Health in Oklahoma 34 years ago as a graduate student working part time in the business office. He previously held leadership roles at St. Anthony Hospital, including president, executive vice president and COO, and vice president of operations.
Ms. Powell began her SSM Health career in 1989 as a staff nurse at St. Anthony Hospital and has spent more than 35 years with the organization, according to the release. She has served as chief nurse executive, COO and president of St. Anthony Hospital and Bone & Joint Hospital, and has helped expand access across Oklahoma City and surrounding communities while strengthening the system’s presence in rural markets.
Ms. Coleman currently serves as president of SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital-Midwest in Midwest City, Okla., and regional vice president of strategy, the release said. She joined SSM Health while in graduate school and has held several strategic and operational leadership positions, including regional vice president of strategy and service line operations.
SSM Health is a Catholic nonprofit system with care delivery sites in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Its Oklahoma network includes six hospitals, two joint venture hospitals, five healthplex campuses, seven managed hospitals, 15 rural affiliated hospitals and a medical group with more than 350 physicians and providers.
