Sanford, N.C.-based Central Carolina Hospital selected Spencer Thomas to serve as permanent CEO.

1. Mr. Thomas served as interim leader of the hospital since October 2017.

2. He most recently served as COO of Sovah Health-Danville (Va.).

3. His prior experience includes serving as CEO of Tennova Newport (Tenn.) Medical Center and COO of East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

4. Mr. Thomas holds a master of healthcare administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
