Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health has appointed Jeremy Essman to oversee three of its hospitals.
He will serve as president of Kenmore (N.Y.) Mercy Hospital, Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, N.Y., and Lockport (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital, according to a Nov. 3 health system news release shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Essman succeeds Walt Ludwig at Kenmore Mercy, who retired at the end of October, and takes over responsibilities previously held by Executive Vice President and COO Jim Garvey at Mount St. Mary’s and Lockport Memorial.
He brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience and 25 years of military service with the U.S. Air Force. In his new role, Mr. Essman will work with hospital teams to advance quality, safety and performance across all three facilities and affiliated sites.
Prior to joining Catholic Health, Mr. Essman served as system vice president of hospital operations at Concord (N.H.) Hospital. He also held leadership roles at Buffalo (N.Y.) General Medical Center, including vice president of hospital operations.
