Comparatively, the system lost $103.6 million in the first six months of 2008.
The system’s net operating revenue grew to nearly $2.5 billion, up 11.9 percent from the same period in 2008, and operating income grew to $64.8 million, up from $49.1 million. Operating cash-flow margins grew to $234.1 million, up 10.4 percent.
The strong performance of the health system can be attributed to system growth, increased patient volumes and expense management, according to the report.
