Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge names Barry Nelson chief nurse executive

Morganton, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge appointed Barry Nelson, RN, vice president of nursing and chief nurse executive, effective Oct. 1, according to The News Herald.

Mr. Nelson was named interim chief nurse executive Aug. 1. He joined the hospital in 2017, before which he was interim CNO at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center in North Wilkesboro, N.C.

He previously served as a flight nurse at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, N.C., and Carolinas HealthCare System in Charlotte, N.C.
