Carney Hospital selects permanent president: 4 things to know

Dorchester, Mass.-based Carney Hospital dropped “interim” from President Tom Sands’ title, according to the Dorchester Reporter.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Sands has served as interim president of the hospital since July.

2. Most recently he served as senior vice president of operations for Boston-based Steward Health Care’s Northeast division.

3. Prior to that, he served in several executive roles at Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health.

4. Mr. Sands succeeds Walter Ramos, who left for a new job opportunity in the nonprofit arena.
